COVID-19 Update (Oct 2020)
Protecting You & Your Family
Since 1990, Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department in Zoe, KY has been serving the citizens of Zoe, Zachariah, and Leeco, as well as the citizens of Lee County as a whole and the City of Beattyville.
2020 was not something we were prepared for. It has affected everyone in one way or another. And your volunteer first responders wasn't excluded. The shutting down of business and the resulting impact on the economy has hurt everyone, including us. Because of the contagiousness of covid-19 and the recommendations from the state of Kentucky and the CDC, we have had to make the difficult choice to cancel both of our off-road trail rides which is our only income besides the state aid awarded to every department from the Fire Commission. We have continued to provide our fire prevention and extinguishment as well as motor vehicle accident response and various types of rescue. We assist Powell and Wolfe County when called upon for aide in the Red River Gorge.
Our budget has been deeply hurt. But as a volunteer organization with out a steady income of tax funds like larger departments may have, us small volunteer departments can budget the money we have so that our services and equipment go uninterrupted to serve all of you - the community who continues to support us in anyway.
However, if you can support us in anyway, financially, or purchasing cases of bottled water for us to keep supplies of on fire scenes, and anything else you might think benefit us, we really appreciate you and thank you in advance.
If you would like to donate any physical goods such as water or other essentials, please contact Chief Charles Booth at (606) 634-1229. You may also contact Assistant Chief Thomas Miller at (859) 404-7249. Thank you all again. We hope one day soon we can bring back our trail rides and have a sense of normalcy.
